Information for the preoperative consultation and important documents

As a rule, you will be admitted to the Isar Hospital or the Pettenkofer Hospital on the day of your operation. Before your stay at one of our clinics, all of the important information concerning admission for inpatients will be discussed with you during the preoperative consultation.

Please set up an appointment for your personal preoperative consultation as early as possible before your stay at the clinic. Please note that this appointment before admission to the clinic is necessary, and you must appear for this appointment in person. Family members are welcome to accompany you to the appointment, but they cannot represent you or take your place at the appointment.

Preoperative consultation hours

Monday thru Thursday 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Friday 7:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

The preoperative consultation offices are on the ground floor of the Isar Medical Center. You can ask at the reception about the exact room number.

Please bring the following documents with you to the preoperative consultation:
 

• Your health insurance card and, if you have supplementary insurance, the supplementary insurance card.
• The transfer form from the physician admitting you to the clinic (yellow form).
• Your medication schedule.
• Previous medical findings.
• Physicians' reports.
• Your cardiology record and allergy record.
   

Ask the physician treating you if you do not have one of the abovementioned documents. If you are taking medication on a regular basis, please discuss with the physician treating you in advance whether you can continue taking the medication (this is especially important in regard to the effects various medications have on blood coagulation).

You are not required to fast for the preoperative consultation appointment!

Rehabilitation following inpatient treatment

This information is important for all patients who receive a knee or hip implant, or for patients whose attending physician has recommended a post-operative treatment following their inpatient treatment at the clinics:
